Relief For Myanmar

I have just really been greived to find out what the Myanmar military has done. It’s an outrage, but you can still help.

I know a man named David Servant who runs an orphanage in Myanmar. He also trains pastors all over the globe in third world countries, especially in Africa where the prosperity gospel has hijacked true revivals.
If you would like to see a financial gift count for something, give to this cause. His orphanages are truly founded on Christ alone and these people need help more than ever.

This historic debate took place on February 14th at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, NC with more than 300 in attendance. In February of 2007, Dr. Brown delivered a lecture series at the Blumenthal on “Homosexuality, the Church, and Society,” focusing on the work of the HRC on the final night. This drew a direct response from Joe Solmonese, president of the HRC, who publicly challenged Brown at the HRC’s fund-raising dinner in Charlotte. As a result of that public challenge, Dr. Brown suggested that both sides put the issues on the table in a mutually respectful way, leading to this year’s debate.

Wow, it’s April already. What a mad season it’s been lately.

The boys over at The Greycoats have been in contact with Ernie Gruen and have asked him some very important and precise questions that need to be dealt with.
If you’re an adherent to IHOP then you owe it to yourself to view these things.

I recommend their recent post which has the above mentioned interview.

This isn’t done with animosity but a real desire for truth to be told. It really is neccessary. Try your hardest to NOT react to this and spill forth emotional defenses of a beloved ministry out of a knee-jerk reaction. Try actually reading the Gruen report and Bickle’s renunciation of Cain that you will find hyperlinked in the interview.

Art Katz’s New Website.

At least it’s new to me. I just found it today. I clicked on an article from Ben Israel and it turned into the site that is now being maintained to preserve his life’s teachings and corrective words to much of charismatic christendom.

As most of you know, he’s my hero as far as men on earth are concerned. He was the guy that finally articulated with actual words what I had been feeling in my gut for years in my christian experience in the charismatic and prophetic (so-called) movements. I finally understood why I just couldn’t go along with so much stuff, even though my mind was often unfruitful as to why.

I highly commend his ministry. Look for his testimony for starters. The way that God apprehended the man is phenomenal.

A Wicked And Adulterous Generation Asks For A Sign…

I would have to say that this is an oft quoted verse that is used to sort of “pooh-pooh” those of us who believe God for the miraculous in a given situation and pray according to that belief. It is normally argued that those of us who are continuationists are “sign seekers”.

Many Talk but Few Preach

The theme of preaching is on my mind this slightly snowy morning here in the Queen City. More specifically the idea of what preaching actually is and what it should accomplish, what it is opposed to teaching, how to know when you are hearing actual preaching and so on. I hear the phrase “biblical preaching” a lot.

Facing A Certain Eternity.

This story had my guts turning over in knots. What I mean by that is that I could almost feel this guys heart while I read his testimony.
